Welcoming Longer Days & New Adventures

We moved the clocks forward last night—hello, longer days! It always feels amazing to gain those extra hours of daylight, though I’m not sure how I’ll feel waking up early tomorrow… hopefully, my body adjusts quickly! This shift in seasons also feels like the perfect moment to start planning holidays. I have to admit—I’ve already booked a trip for 2026. Too soon? Maybe. But early-bird deals are just too good to ignore! If you’re considering an exotic or more expensive getaway, it’s worth looking into advance booking discounts. Planning ahead also helps with budgeting—I like knowing exactly how much I’ll need and spacing out expenses throughout the year.

I personally avoid traveling in July and August because of peak season prices (and crowds!), but I know for parents, school schedules dictate everything. Even if you’re holding out for a last-minute deal, planning early is still a smart move. My first holiday is just four weeks away, and I can’t wait! Even though the start of the year has been relatively smooth, it still feels like forever since my last trip with my husband—just the two of us, doing what we love most: traveling and spending time together.

City Getaways Before It’s Too Hot

Now’s also the last chance to squeeze in a spring weekend getaway before summer temperatures make city exploring a sweaty challenge. Or, if you prefer, start planning for autumn instead!

My all-time favorite cities? Paris (I try to visit at least once a year—yes, my 2025 trip is already booked) and Venice (this city has a special place in my heart). But beyond those, here are my top recommendations:

  • Barcelona – The vibe, the food, the energy… just perfection.
  • Nice – Honestly, the entire Côte d’Azur is breathtaking.
  • Madrid – A must if you love art and culture.

And on my must-visit list? Rome, Palermo, and Seville. If you’ve been to any of these, let me know your thoughts!

A Little Goal Check-In

With the first quarter of the year behind us, it’s a good time to check in on our New Year’s resolutions. Are they still relevant? Have some already been accomplished? Maybe they just need a little tweaking.

For me, I’ve been staying active and hitting the gym regularly, which I’m really happy about—I feel great! But one of my goals was to take better care of my hair, and besides avoiding my straightener, I haven’t done much else. Time to step it up!

One unexpected wake-up call came from my yearly health check. My results weren’t great, which means I need to pay closer attention to my diet. If I can make changes now rather than rely on medication later, I will. Eating well is such a powerful tool, and thankfully, spring makes it easier—fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables are coming in, which makes healthy eating more enjoyable. My absolute favorite? Asparagus! I can’t wait for thick, delicious English asparagus to start flooding the markets. And suddenly, eating 50 different plants a week (a goal I’ve seen recommended everywhere lately) feels totally doable.

Embracing the Outdoors thanks to Longer Days

With longer days and warmer weather, now’s the perfect time to start spending more time outside—and maybe even pick up a new activity. Whether it’s something as relaxing as gardening or as thrilling as road cycling (I’d love to try this), spring is full of possibilities.

For me, tennis season is about to begin! I’m not a member of a club, so my husband and I play on an outdoor court in a nearby park. As soon as the weather warms up just a little more, we’ll be regulars there.

Spring has this way of giving us more energy—it makes us want to get outside, have fun till late thanks to longer days, and soak in every moment before it slips away too quickly. But maybe the trick isn’t just doing more, but actually experiencing more. Maybe it’s time to put the phone down, cancel that Netflix subscription, and fully embrace the day.

let me know your thoughts.

love
